We’ve heard concern over the number of skateboarders not practicing social distancing at the skatepark.
We recognize the importance of getting outside, staying active and taking advantage of the spectacular weather. We also want to ensure our community members are being responsible while undertaking these activities.
In an effort to maintain the ability to skateboard, which allows for social distancing, we will be closely monitoring the skatepark today to ensure all park users are keeping a safe distance from one another. Social distancing means maintaining a distance of 2 metres or more from other people.
If we find that social distancing is not being practiced we will be closing the skatepark at the end of the day.
We ask that parents remind your skaters of the importance of social distancing. To our older and adult skaters, we compel you to model this important behaviour to our younger park users. We thank you for your cooperation.
