Public Works crews are undertaking watermain flushing from Monday, February 15th until Friday, February 19th throughout the Village of Pemberton, which may result in some discolouration of water. Residents are advised to run their water until it's clear before using.
Water main flushing is an important part of water distribution maintenance as it aids in the improvement of drinking water quality.
Flushing involves isolating a section of the water distribution system and opening hydrants to release water at a high flow rate. The increased water flow aids in the removal of material that has built up overtime in the water mains.
