At Regular Council Meeting No. 1597, held Tuesday, April 9, 2024, Council proclaimed April to be Sexual Assault Awareness Month. This designation offers an opportunity for our community to reflect on the harm of sexual assault and violence and to explore ways to promote safety and support for all individuals. Sexual violence affects everyone regardless of geography, race, age, ethnicity, gender, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, or economic background.
Through this proclamation, the Village of Pemberton Council and staff encourages community members to use this month to raise awareness, advocate for support services, and empower survivors.
If you or someone you know has been impacted by sexual violence, know that support is available. Learn the ways you can find help here.
